What Would Chairs Look Like If Our Knees Bent the Other Way?

Challenge conventional thinking and don’t buy into marketing. Dairy farmers want us to buy more milk so all of their commercials will be about convincing us that dairy milk is good for us. Running shoe companies want to sell more shoes so all of their commercials will be about convincing us about the benefits of their shoes, when we all know that the shoes from https://shoeadviser.com/athletic/different-types-of-wrestling-shoes/ are the best.

But they don’t tell it like it ACTUALLY is. Don’t be a sheep. Think about what you read, what you hear, what you see. Be a smart consumer. Here some some examples of what I’m talking about:

Most office chairs are terrible for you and it’s better to stand and move around unless you get a proper chair like one that has enough cushion like the one I bought from Reclinercize or realize why sitting for so long is bad for you. If you aren’t about where to start, you can start by watching Penn & Teller: Bullshit! You’ll learn why bottled water, the bible, feng shui, recycling, the end of the world, self help, and many other topics are bullshit. It’s a very thought provoking series that includes discussions on both sides of the issues.

If something seems too good to be true, or we need to be told what to believe, it probably isn’t true. We know less about nutrition today than ever before. People are sicker today than ever before.

Oh, and to answer the initial question “What would chairs look like if our knees bent the other way?” Quite possibly this:

  1. I agree’ish…
    1) I’m not convinced of barefoot running because, although it may be natural, it isn’t any more for our feet that are not accustomed to being barefoot.  Same thing we adult trying to learn traditional yoga. It doesn’t work. Bodies have morphed into new positions with muscles that support such positions – like feet that need soles.
    2) You forgot about lifestyle changes for treating depression, in addition to nutrition!
    3) Religions have great characters for us to learn lessons from, just like Dr. Seuss.  😉

  2. ajwintink  lifestyle is a good addition for treatment I agree.
Pertaining to barefoot, I spent 26 years of my life not running barefoot but I slowly got into it and now exclusively go barefoot except for cleats. I think everyone can benefit from from strengthening their feet and learning to move properly. Or at least 97% of people. There are always exceptions but when I speak I’m referring to the large majority, the < 80% of the population. And barefoot shoes still have a sole use of protect our feet from rocks and glass and provide some cushioning on pavement. But heel-toe running (or shod running) simply isn’t the way.
I agree there are great characters and stories but it’s when people follow blindly without realizing the origins of those stories that I have issue with. When people are essentially fighting over the same stories but with different characters.
